How do I fund my account?

Wire transfer and bank transfer (ACH) transfer are typically the quickest ways to fund your account.

You can also mail a check to our custodian, TD Ameritrade Institutional.

If you have accounts at various firms, then you can consolidate by account transfer (ACAT) in addition to the above funding options.

As an institutional client, you can also visit any TD Ameritrade location. Since many of our clients are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, here are some convenient locations:

How are my assets protected?

Index Gurus selected TD Ameritrade Institutional to hold your money so that it eliminates any conflicts of interest and so you can experience one of the highest levels of security in the industry with the TD Ameritrade Asset Protection Guarantee:

If a client loses cash or securities from their account due to unauthorized activity, TD Ameritrade will reimburse them for the cash or shares of securities they lost. This protection goes above and beyond the provisions that already govern their account.
In the event of unauthorized activity, TD Ameritrade will reimburse your clients for any cash or shares of securities that are lost.

FIDC, SIPC & London insurers

Certificates of Deposit (CDs) purchased through TD Ameritrade are issued by banks insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In addition, cash in your account can be held in a TD Ameritrade FDIC Insured Deposit Account (IDA). Balances in an IDA are held at TD Bank, N.A. and/or TD Bank USA, N.A., where they are insured by the FDIC against bank failure for up to $250,000 per depositor, per bank. TD Bank, N.A. and TD Bank USA, N.A. are affiliates of TD Ameritrade. Each bank will have separate FDIC coverage of up to $250,000 per depositor for up to $500,000 total per IDA depositor.

TD Ameritrade, Inc. is a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). Securities in your account are protected up to $500,000. For details, please see SIPC.org

TD Ameritrade also provides $149.5 million worth of protection for each client through supplemental coverage provided by London insurers. The $149.5 million of coverage includes an additional $900,000 limit on cash in the account. Each client is limited to a combined return of $150 million from a Trustee, SIPC, or London insurers. The TD Ameritrade insurance policy does have an aggregate total coverage of $250 million over all customers. This policy provides you coverage against theft following brokerage insolvency and does not protect against loss in market value of the securities.
